Yesterday the Turbo Pressure Adapter for the carburetor was fabricated. From a stainless steel plate, some hydraulic pipes and a DN50 pipe this unique part was made from nothing more than an idea, 3 friends and plenty of coffee. Follow the manufacturing in pictures.
Thursday afternoon after work I went to a workshop at Mongstad together with 2 friends. We had an idea of what to make and a Dellorto to fit it on.
The stainless steel plate was found and shaping started.
The contour of the carburetor was marked onto the plate.
The 40 mm holes and the fixing bolt holes was drilled on the bottom plate.
The DN 50 (2") pipe was fitted to the endplate.
When Stein Kyrre and I says that WE are going todo something it always means that Martin end up doing it...
And when Martin do something its always done right.
Stein Kyrre took the role as Master Designer and introduced the radius corners made by splitting a pipe.
Distance pieces were turned to the right length and fitted to the mounting holes.
The box was welded together and the last plate placed.
Last welding before grinding.
After a rough grind the Turbo Pressure Adapter was fitted to the carburetor and it fits like a glove.
And here the turbo will press in the amount of air that both the turbo and I find suitable.
When finished it will shine like a star.
It is Friday, its weekend and that is just perfect!
Erik
